The known history goes back three owners (almost 60 years) and was believed to have come from an old hedge originally. I've owned the tree for about 12 years.  The owner before me says the trunk has not changed (in size) for the time he has had it (22years) same for me. It has been in the same high quality pot for over 30 years.  The tree is very healthy and easy to care for. It is a male tree so gets small white flowers in spring, but no berries. It has lots of dead wood, shari, jin's and uno's. The pictures do not do it justice. It's a sub-tropical, could probably survive a "light" freeze but I treat it as a tropical and bring in indoors when the temps. get down in the 40's. It does very well indoors in a bright window in the winter. In fact I trim it a couple of times during winter months just to keep the growth in check. It's a tree you can enjoy all year long. The only reason I'm selling is going to start wintering  south for a few months during winters and don't trust my kids to watch it (they almost kill my trees when we go away for a weekend :(  ). this is the only tropical/sub-tropical tree I have. All pictures were taken 7/20/08  except the two of the root pruning, they were taken 3/07, I re-pot this tree every other year.
