Description
This Auction is for a custom 900 gallon Starfire* Glass Bowfront Aquarium, built by Jeff Turner and Reef Aquaria Design. It is one of the finest built and most impressive tanks you will ever find. Reef Aquaria Design is the highest quality builder of Glass tanks in the industry. This tank is a very impressive true full custom bowfront reef ready glass tank. The front viewing window is 1" thick laminated Starfire* bent glass. The rest of the tank is standard 3/4" glass. The dimensions of the tank are 116" long x 48" tall x 36" to the front of the Bow and 24" on each end (116"x48"x36"x24"). The empty weight of the tank is approximately 1800 lbs and consists of over 110 seperate peices glass. The original cost of the tank was in excess of $20,000. The tank is drilled with reef ready overflows, return line and closed loop circulation applications, all holes will accomodate 1-1/2" or 2" bulkhead fittings. Aslo included in this auction is the full custom 1 piece powdered coated stand. The stand is a very solid 1"x 3"x 1/4" thick walled tube steel welded frame, the frame is also bowed to match the tank footprint and is powdered coated. It has eight legs with 3/4" levelers with 4" ball and socket foot discs and weighs approximately 250 lbs. The tank platform is two thickness of 3/4" marine grade plywood and 1" foam, and stands approximately 18" tall. The cost of the stand exceeds $1200. MIsc. items also included for the winning bidder include the custom 3 piece background (attached to tank), fiberglass 300 gallon sump and some assorted pre-fabricated plumbing parts. Wooden transfer skid. and some arched wooden enclosure frames. Winning bidder is responsible for picking up the tank, stand and all included items. I will help with pick up logistics and loading assistance, however you will need to bring man power for pick up and loading assistance. This is a very heavy glass box and takes at least 6 very strong men to handle even, with the assistance of lift jacks. If you are bidding on this item you should do your homework on what a tank like this requires for set up and life support systems. Questions regarding this auction should be directed to me at ReefDoctor at aol .com.
