Air system: The motor turns the fan.  The fan pushes air into and around the combustion chamber.  This air is heated and provides a stream of clean, hot air. Ignition system: The ignition control assembly provides power to the ignitor.  This ignites the fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber. Flame-Out Control system: This system causes the heater to shut down if the flame goes out. Safety Information Use only in well-ventillated areas. Minimum clearance from any combustible materials:  8 ft. from hot air outlet, 6 ft from top, and 4 ft. from sides and inlet. When we receive our order from the manufacture, we open each box and inspect it again to make sure you our cutomer receives The item they paid for. The only difference in this heater and a “brand new” heater is that this heater may have slight cosmetic blemishes or scratches and is packaged in a plain brown cardboard box as seen in the pictures. Factory Reconditioned Factory reconditioned heaters have been returned to DESA for many reasons, sometimes the heater has never even been outside of the factory in the case of a pallet falling over in the warehouse.  In this case, boxes may get damaged, or there is no visable damage to the box or the heater; however, the heater is removed from the box and tested to ensure that the heater works properly.  At that point it can no longer be sold as new but as "reconditioned".  Other heaters are returned of missing parts, customer no longer needs it, wrong application or wrong size, etc.  Once it's returned to the factory it is then completely gone through and meets all original specifications by the manufacturer.  Each reconditioned heater has been 100% tested whereas new heaters only 1 in approximately 75 are removed and tested (and consequently, those new heaters that are tested are then considered reconditioned). These heaters are then re-packed in plain cardboard boxes and given a remanufacturers number.  They are of the same quality that you would pay retail for in any store but at a discounted price.
