Description
Solid Mahogany Duncan Phyfe Dining Set by Huntington Furniture Corp, Huntington, W Va. This set of furniture was originally owned by Tilly DeVore, a very wealthy woman who lived in a colonial village in Western New York. The best we could figure is that this furniture was made sometime between 1890 and 1940. The condition of this furniture is very good. If you would like closeups of any of the joints, chairs, etc, please don't hestitate to ask. It is solid mahogany and very strong. The table top has always had the pad on it so the finish is beautiful. There is a small mark on the top center of the buffet, but I believe it is easy to fix. I wouldn't dare as I don't know if it would reduce the value of the furniture. I will leave that for the experts. Near Waxhaw, NC we had an antique dealer examine this for us, and he told us it is worth over $16,000.00. Recently, I lost my wife and I am now downsizing and selling off all of the large furniture and many of the collectibles, such as, fine china, glassware, etc. Be sure to watch my eBay store as I will be putting more and more items up for sale. This is an excellent set of antique furniture and would look great in your home. I have it priced way below what I was told it was worth and if you would like, make an offer. I would like to have someone buy this who would appreciate it for what it is.
