The plate is very thick-5/16"-and heavy.  It has a round lip underneath so it sits up off the table.  The edges turn up slightly so the ashes will be held down in the concave center....like an ashtray. This plate is a Mango or Cantelope color with a beautiful Japanese lady in a striking, delicate pose.  There is a LOT of Asian writing on the plate.  I assume it is Japanese, but am not sure.  I think Asian Characters---or Asian lettering--- is beautiful.  There is a small bundle of 36 Lavender Incense sticks included with this plate.  I Will Combine Shipping!
