It runs mainly off of charcoal, which runs through a gravity feed system. Place charcoal in large tube, and charcoal flows down as it is spent. This helps maintain smoker at perfect temperature. At 200 degrees, this machine can maintain heat for about 12 hours with only 10 pounds of charcoal depending on type or brand of charcoal used. The smoker has five racks for food and each rack is made of one solid piece of metal. I have had over a case of pork butts on them at one time with plenty of room to spare. This Stump can reach temperatures ranging from 125 to 450 degrees Farenhiet. Inside the firebox, there is a tray to catch charcoal ashes and to place small pieces of wood for special flavoring.
