It is made to be able to hold burning cone incense, allowing the scented smoke to mix with the air through the multiple six pointed star shaped holes cut into the sides. These holes also allow the air to be perfumed with either potppouri or any other type of solid scent stored in the ball. This ball can be used like the pomander, hung in a closet or other enclosed space to keep the air freshened, or placed in a more well traveled area. The coloring and design of this container is such that allows it to complement almost any decor, painted in soft browns gradiating to a pale tan. The hanging chains are brass. The nearly round ball has a finial on the top and the bottom with a lip between the two halves of the ball and a row of stars on either side of the lip and in between the finials. The ball itself measures 6" tall including both finials, and is 4" across the lip. It measures appx. 12" from top of chain to bottom of bottom finial. This item is hand-crafted, please expect some variation and slight irregularities. These are not defects but show the uniqueness of your item. This is new with no problems.
