Description
Fireplaces are very romantic, but it’s not very romantic if you’re cold. Please read this first: Due to the footing and foundation requirements to support this stove, it is best to plan and prepare the fireplace location in advance. For new construction, that is in the preliminary planning stage, or early construction phase that will allow for inclusion of the footing; and depending on whether it is is a slab on grade or basement / crawl space, a concrete block foundation. This fireplace will exceed your expectations when completed. For existing homes, this fireplace will require additional structural support and since each installation is unique, contact me so we can determine the feasibility of your installation. We have fireplaces that are designed for use outside the home (patio / pool area / restaurant non-smoking area) as well as larger units that would be ideal for a commercial area such as a production floor. Please check with your local building department for any additional construction / support requirements. Traditional fireplaces remove more of your interior conditioned air than they replace through the heat emitted by the fire. The Crossfire CF-2100 is a fireplace core that will return up to 78% of the energy generated by the wood you burn. With an exterior air supply and the damper fully open, approximately 98% of the wood energy is consumed in the fire resulting in virtually no creosote buildup in the chimney. The technology for this type of fireplace is not new. Scandinavians have been using this fireplace design for hundreds of years. With the Crossfire CF-2100, firebrick material has been molded into interlocking blocks to construct a core that will absorb the heat generated in the firebox and with the added brick or stone that you place on the exterior, over time, radiate that heat back into your home. The CF-2100 can heat a space of over 2000 Sq/Ft., and can produce 200,000 BTU's of heat. The additional photos show the core with bake oven; and finished stoves to illustrate completion options. Our fireplace door is the largest in the industry and has a patented air wash design to keep the ceramic glass clear so you can view the fire without the typical smoke film on the glass. Usually, any smoky deposits on the ceramic glass are generated when the fire is started with paper products. This deposit will burn off as the fire builds or can be easily cleaned with a mild abrasive pad and water. The core can be constructed in 2 to 3 hours using the materials and easy to follow instructions provided with the fireplace package. An additional 4 in. (minimum) of masonry or stone material is required to completely surround the core and provide an additional heat absorbing surface. We have other options available such as see through doors for the fire chamber and the bake oven. Watch the fire from different living areas in your home with the see through option and/or use the bake oven see through option to prepare food in the kitchen and remove it from a room on the other side. Custom etching on the bake oven glass can be done with the design of your choice. If desired, the core can be constructed by our personnel at your location; at an additional cost; or your mason can construct it using our easy to follow instructions. In the home I recently moved into, this stove was the only heat source during my construction. I added a few logs to top off the existing fire in the stove when I left the house around 4 PM; and the next day when I arrived at 7:30 AM, the outside temperature was +6 F and the inside temperature of my 2700 sq/ft, two story (plus full basement), house was 55 F. Although the air supply and damper were left wide open and therefore reduced the heat value of the thermal mass after the fire extinguished; the exterior brick on the fireplace was still warm and providing heat. My stove is centrally located in the house and has an oversized external air supply. Since I moved in at the end of March,2007, I didn’t need much heat. I have been using the stove since early Nov. and now the nighttime temperature through April has been mainly in the 40’s and 50's. I've only used the stove a few times in April since the temperature has been mild. For the heating season ( NOV through APR) I have averaged less than 900 KWH per month for my total electric home. Brenda and Nathan, from NY, purchased a stove last summer and used it the previous winter. Here's what they had to say: "We love the stove. We had two fires a day most winter days, three on really cold days. Everyone who sees it loves it. It's really nice on cold nights." Using my Crossfire, my TOTAL energy cost has been about $500.00 for the 6 month heating season. I have no idea what it would cost to use my heat pump to supply heating over the winter. Since I have firewood left over from clearing my lot, I haven't needed to purchase any. I have used less than 3 cords of wood this season. There is a difference between an effective heat source and an efficient heat source. The Crossfire masonry heater is an extremely effective heater; however, if it is placed in a home that is not well insulated; it’s not very efficient. I saw this stove in operation at a Log Home show in 2000 and knew that this is what I wanted. I am extremely happy with my choice and expect the electric company will wonder why my heat pump doesn’t seem to get much usage in the winter months. Incidentally, I live in the western North Carolina Mountains at the 4000 ft level. I was so impressed with the performance of this stove and the honesty and integrity of the company; I became a distributor in the Southeast US. This stove can be utilized in an industrial environment. Our stoves can be sized to meet the demands of a large, open, production area. You are bidding on a Crossfire CF-2100 with bake oven. I am offering this unit at a price that is below the MSRP listed on the company web site. EBAY policy does not permit me to list the company web site since they sell stoves directly from the company. The fireplace will be shipped from our manufacturing facility in Campbellford, Ontario, Canada to your location. I now have the capability to deliver stoves to any location in the Eastern Time Zone, north of Florida, for a flat rate of $600.00. This will include a few hours of on site consultation regarding your stove installation. I will need to deliver a minimum of two stoves ( to the same or different locations ) to make the delivery cost effective since I will have to travel from North Carolina to Ontario, Canada; and then to the customers location. If you wish to pick up the fireplace at the manufacturing facility, you will save the shipping cost and Crossfire will prepare the documents you will need at the border. US Shipping costs are dependant on the purchaser’s location. If requested, I can get an estimated shipping cost to your location. This unit weighs approximately 2500 lbs. and comes on a palate. Due to fluctuating fuel surcharges, shipping costs change frequently. Terms: 25% of the sale price due at the completion of the sale. The balance of the sale price is due prior to shipment. Shipping date predicated upon manufacturers inventory available and / or customers requested shipping date.
