Description
This top-of-the-line mill is big enough to start a small commercial brewery. Detented adjusters make it especially easy to change the gap. Dual eccentric stainless steel bearing adjusters click through 9 positions when turned changing the gap .005" each. Factory preset .045" Adjustment ranges from .025" to .065" Three rollers 5" long, 2" diameter, cold rolled steel, diamond knurled pattern. The third roller is smoother to reduce husk damage. The triangular configuration of the rollers forms two gaps. The first fixed at .070" softens the grain interior and speeds up throughput. The adjustable second gap can then more readily open the husk with less damage and separate it from the starch. This promotes easier sparging and higher brewhouse efficiency. Aluminum frames, SAE-841 bronze bearings, eight 1/4"-20 mounting holes for sturdy versatile setup, bolts included Tool-steel driveshaft 1/2" diameter with 3 flats for positive drill chuck attachment Precisely sized, trued and polished axles spin freely with minimal wear Factory-direct & brand new. Specs: The 320D weighs about 16 pounds. It is 4" tall, 4.25" wide, and 6" long plus the 1/2" diameter driveshaft which sticks out about 2.2".The mounting holes are centered on 3-5/8" by 5-1/2", both on the top and on the bottom. They should be drilled 3/8" diameter to allow room to adjust the frames.Recommended speed is about 200 rpms, with a 12" pulley on the mill and a 1.5" pulley on a 1725 rpm motor, 1/2 hp at least. This will crush about 12 pounds per minute.
