Custom All Acrylic Large Bird Habitat/Cage Start Price USD 500.00 Current Price USD 500.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Sunday, October 05, 2008 End Time Sunday, October 12, 2008 Location Dallas, TX See more about 'Custom All Acrylic Large Bird Habitat/Cage' Description For your consideration is a custom all acrylic bird habitat made in  2000.  I bought it at an auction for 850.00 (a deal!!) a few years ago.    The habitat is  beautiful, has minimal wear and flawlessly crafted.  When I say "all-acrylic", this includes rounded corners, drawer, door hinged and latch.     It is 27 (tall) x 24 (wide) x 17 (deep)- all-acrylic, with venting on 5 sides, a slide out drawer, a top that lifts off for cleaning.    I will include 3 perches (the rope kind), one branch perch, cuttle-bone holder, 2 water dispensers (one acrylic one that attaches on the outside of cage- never used) and another to put inside the cage, a few toys and 2 green metal food/water holders that attach on the inside.  (there were ceramic bowls that fit the rings, but have been broken)  The size of rings is standard, so it would be easy to replace. (150.00 value)   If you are unfamiliar with acrylic habitats for your birds, they are much more practical than wire/bar cages.  Mainly, they are much cleaner (for human and birds).  But also the expanded view an acrylic habitat offers allows you more enjoyment of your bird and it is my observation that the birds are way less jumpy when they have a good unobstructed view of their environment.   This habitat has vents on all sides, including the top to allow for proper ventilation. The vents are standard size and spacing that fits most bird accessories.(Important because drilling your own holes to accomodate acessories can easily split or weaken the integrity of acrylic)    The habitat can be cleaned and polished with acrylic polish cleaner.  (It can be cleaned with birds inside as long as you don't make the cleaner airborn- i.e. spray on papertowel or cloth and wipe-)   I've checked around and this type of habitat does hold it value. You will find cheaper acrylic cages on the market, but since we have been through a few now and know the differences- this one is the one you want.  It is solid, easy to clean and our birds were very happy in it.  It would be ideal on a stand with lockable casters.   We are only getting rid of it because of the vents are the right size for pet birds, but are large enough for a small cat paw to reach inside.  (We have 2 small cat/family members, so had no choice here. )   This habitat could house a number of different birds. We had parakeets in it, but the original owner used it for  finches.  It is big enough for larger birds too, such as an African Grey.   This item is for pick-up, unless buyer wants to arrange for packing and shipping. I am willing to deliver it within DFW area to the mail center of your choice.
