Description
This is an absolutely slam-bang gorgeous hand made Tabriz Persian Rug, vintage 1984. I purchased this rug in 1984 in Dallas, Texas, and put it in a second home where it resided for six years with occupancy only on weekends. After that I occupied the house for 12 years. After sale of that house in 2004, I moved it to a new home for about a year, and since that time it has been in storage. I have decided that I will not use it in the future, so it is best to sell it. The rug is thicker than most Persians, but, if you are familiar with the Tabriz, they are usually thicker than the Isfahan and other oriental rugs. It is in very good condition, and has no discernable stains or other damage. Of course, you can't wear them out anyway, but this one shows no wear at all. It does not look dirty, but needs to be cleaned, but it would be useless to do that before shipping. The colors and designs are very impressive. The pictures posted really do not do it justice. There is one blemish on the underside of the rug. There is a slight electrical burn from an electrical cord that was under the rug (shown in picture 9), but it does not go through to the top surface (shown in picture 10). Anyone would be proud to own a rug like this. My buy it now price is about 1/3 of what I paid for it in 1984, but I know that the value of these rugs has really dropped since that time. Look at the pictures, and if you would like more information, just ask. It is listed for pick-up only, but I would deliver it a reasonable distance, depending on the final price. For the Buy-it-Now price, I will deliver anywhere within 100 miles of Mineola, Texas, which would include the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Tyler/Longview area, Texarkana or Shreveport, La. It weighs 300-400 lbs, so if you want it shipped, get a quote from Yellow Freight or a comparable carrier. THANKS FOR LOOKING!
