It has a bottom drawer and a top compartment with a lift-top lid. Both compartments have slotted areas to hold your flatware pieces. The box is lined with dark green velvet (unknown to be tarnish proof) and the outside has a cherry finish. The box is in fair condition. There are some mold spots inside. This item is being sold AS IS. No returns, no refunds. The box measures 6" tall, 14 3/4" wide, and 11" deep. The case holds place settings for 12 and serving pieces can be put in the drawer. This box is a real bargain for the price and a wonderful way to store your all your flatware pieces.
