How it Works People and animals will not falsely trigger the Solar Driveway Monitor. The Solar Driveway Monitor uses a patented magnetometer sensor system. Movement of any nearby metal object having a magnetic field (i.e. cars and trucks) will be detected. The magnetometer is so sensitive that it will even detect the earth’s magnetic field! When a vehicle passes near the SENSOR, the RECEIVER chimes and flashes the alert light. The alert light will flash for 15 minutes after a vehicle is detected. The receiver will continue to chime each time a vehicle passes. NOTE: Each time the sensor is triggered, the sensor will make a soft clicking sound to confirm the vehicle was detected.
