FEATURES: Maple Body, Handles, Wedge, With Santos Rosewood Sole and Bubinga Adjustment Knob. Dimensions 4 3/8 " long and 3 1/2" wide. About 9 1/2" wide with handles and 4" tall. The Scraper Blade is typically 2 7/8 inches wide. They are sharpened at a 90 degree angle so a cutting edge can be rolled on either side of the blade. Copied from an antique and modified to my own design, completely handcrafted.  Clear Danish Oil finish Very comfortable handle grip. Scraping is an unflattering word to describe the function of this tool. This scraper is capable of taking very fine almost dust like shavings off of very hard and or highly figured woods. A finished surface can be produced superior to even a finely sanded one. Only a Smoothing Plane can leave a better surface than a well sharpened Cabinet Scraper. The Scraper blade is made from old Handsaws. The steel from these old saws is high quality and tempered to the appropriate hardness. No attempt was made to remove all traces of the past lives of these scraper blades, some discoloration, makers marks ect... may still remain but does not effect its function. The Cabinet Scraper is fitted with an Adjustment Knob, which bows the blade slightly to gain a more aggressive scraping action. If you have never used a scraper before, this is a great tool to start with . Each tool is sharpened and tested before it leaves my shop, Sharpening and general care instructions will be included.
